Kenya's Nature Reserves: Ol Pejeta, Nakuru, Maasai Mara

In the morning, you’ll depart from Nairobi and head north to the Ol Pejeta Private Conservancy. This is one of Kenya’s most fascinating conservation projects, where open plains, acacia trees, and mountain silhouettes create a stunning backdrop for your first safari.
Upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge or campsite and have lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll go on a safari through the reserve. Here, you can spot rare black rhinos, elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras, as well as visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Kenya’s only center for rescued chimpanzees.
In the evening, you’ll return to camp for dinner and relaxation to the sounds of the savanna.

Today you’ll continue exploring Ol Pejeta. The morning safari takes place during the most pleasant hours of the day, when the savanna is still cool and the animals are particularly active. This is a great opportunity to see white and black rhinos, lions, giraffes, zebras, and other residents of the reserve.
After breakfast, you’ll visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Rescued chimpanzees live here in an environment designed to closely resemble their natural habitat. In the afternoon, you’ll go on another safari through other areas of the reserve, where the landscapes vary from open plains to greener areas near water sources.
Optionally, for an additional fee, you can arrange a walking safari with a ranger or a night safari. This is an opportunity to see how the savanna gradually changes its rhythm after sunset. In the evening, dinner and an overnight stay at the camp await you.

After breakfast, you’ll head to Lake Nakuru, located in the Great Rift Valley. This national park is known for its picturesque lakeshores, rich birdlife, and the rare opportunity to see both white and black rhinos at the same time.
After arriving and checking into the lodge, you’ll go on a safari through the park. Among the forests and open plains, you may encounter Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalo, waterbucks, and rhinos, and during the season, large flocks of flamingos gather on the lake’s shores. In the evening, you’ll enjoy dinner and relax at the lodge.

In the morning, you’ll leave Nakuru and travel through the town of Narok to the famous Maasai Mara Reserve. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge and have lunch.
After some rest, you’ll set out on your first safari across the endless plains of the Maasai Mara. In the soft evening light, the savanna looks particularly striking, and the animals gradually emerge into the open spaces. Here you can see elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, and, if you’re lucky, predators preparing for their nightly hunt.
After the safari, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

After breakfast, you’ll spend the whole day in one of Africa’s most famous nature reserves. The safari takes place in open-top jeeps, so every guest will have a comfortable spot by the window to watch the animals and take photos.
The Maasai Mara is considered one of the best places to spot the "Big Five": lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo. Cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and numerous birds can also be found on the plains. Every safari here is unpredictable, so even experienced travelers don’t know in advance which encounter will be the highlight of the day.
Midday brings a picnic in the savanna overlooking the park’s endless expanses. This will be followed by a visit to a traditional Maasai village, where you’ll learn about the people’s culture, their daily way of life, their colorful attire, and their famous jumping dance.
In the evening, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

After breakfast, you will leave the Maasai Mara and head back to Nairobi. The drive will take you through Kenya’s ever-changing landscapes, with a stop for lunch in the town of Narok.
You are expected to arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon or evening. A transfer will then be arranged to your hotel or to the international airport, depending on your plans.
